Dead Men Not Done Partying Yet

(Team Bardock)

Team Bardock is one of three Extreme unit focused teams, with Ginyu Force and Super Warriors being the other two. However, they are by far the rarest of the three teams, as they have not had an event that allows players to obtain all units for free. Additionally, it is the only one of the three teams that utilizes Sparking units in their core, as the way that Dead Men Not Done Partying Yet is setup is to buff the Last Man Standing, who is hopefully RED Bardock, to the point where he can easily 1 v 3 entire teams. Because of its focus on revenge kills, this team has the highest amount of on-death buffs of any team in the game, and as a result gets more and more dangerous as it loses members unless your opponent or you, depending, is in complete control of the match and makes no mistakes. One faulty movement can easily lead to you evening the numbers or taking the lead will an ill-timed KO.

The primary Color Triangle for this team is RED-YEL-GRN, but it can very easily be adapted to a different triangle or even a Color Line or a Color Counter. The main consideration for the team is whether or not you want to bring RED Bardock, as he is the main powerhouse behind the team, but given the buffs from the two newer Extreme units Shugesh and Borgos, it can very easily be adapted to a Extreme-only team. This is especially helpful if you're into playing mindgames in PvP as most players haven't run into very many Team Bardock setups, making them unaware of the special effects that they perform, or the buffs that they give upon death or swap out.

The Quick View

RED Bardock

RED Bardock is a Melee Type transforming unit who is one of the most prominent Last Man Standing units in the game. Not only does he have a tremendous amount of buffs that revolve around his allies being dead, this particular team is also centered around giving their allies buffs upon their deaths. Because of this, Bardock can easily become a monster stacked with over 15 different buff types if there is no unit with buff cancelation in play. Additionally, due to his transformed state's main ability, not even BLU units can stop him if he manages to get his bloody hands on them with his healing strike cards and Type Advantage nullification. He has aged a bit since his original release in March 2020, particularly with BLU SSGSS Vegito running around, but on this team he is the cornerstone and your greatest weapon. He holds the tags Saiyan and Team Bardock.

Due to his 2020 release, and Dimps just being kinda weird about rereleasing the early 2020 units, Bardock was originally fairly difficult to obtain on his original Step-Up banner. However, he first returned on the "Legends Ultimate Pickup - The Warriors" banner which coincided with the Anniversary banners. Since then, he has returned as a filler unit in several banners, and thus it is a bit easier to get him. Additionally, since he is the cornerstone of the team, if you do not have this Bardock, you will not be able to play this team to its full potential, but according to my tests, it's still fun to play.

Bardock's first main ability, Oath Between Comrades, which is technically available after 5 counts, transforms him into his "Traitorous Warrior" form for the rest of the battle (read: puts on a bandana and proceeds to kill everything in sight), restores his health by 30%, and gives him a 50% Damage Inflicted buff that cannot be cancelled. However, due to interference from his first Passive, it is locked. His second main ability, You're going to pay!, is available after 10 counts and locks both himself and the opponent in the battlefield for 10 counts, fully restores Bardock's Vanish Gauge, nullifies his own unfavorable Element factors for 30 counts, and draws a blue card on top of it. Due to this, it is actually really easy for Bardock to 1 v 3 if played correctly, particularly compared to other LMS units.

His first Passive, The Beginning of the End, as mentioned above, locks his main ability until either of 2 conditions have occurred: 1 ally is defeated or 50 counts have passed. This is a unique case of a Passive, as it is actually a massive debuff for him, but also acts as a balancing measure due to his transformed state having stats on par with Android 21: Evil (DBL21-05S)'s transformed stats. After transforming, this passive becomes Last Man Standing, which is exactly what Bardock is designed to be. It grants 25% Damage Inflicted and 20% Special Move Damage Inflicted per defeated ally when he first enters the battlefield, which has no timer but can be cancelled, along with -5 Arts Cost per "Tag: Team Bardock" ally defeated.

For his second Passive, Veteran Saiyan Warrior, Bardock gains 50% Strike Damage Inflicted for 50 counts from the start of the battle, working with his main ability, a 50% Reduced Damage buff when he is locked in (which cannot be cancelled), and a Blast Cover Change that is comboable with his blue card. When transformed, it has the same name, but the effects differ slightly. Instead of a 50% Strike Damage Inflicted buff for 50 counts, he gains a 45% Strike Damage Inflicted buff for 15 counts when he enter the battlefield or when he first transforms. All other effects are the same.

Z I - +24% to "Tag: Saiyan" base Strike Attack during battle.

Z II - +28% to "Tag: Saiyan" base Strike Attack during battle.

Z III - +32% to "Tag: Saiyan" base Strike Attack and +15% to "Tag: Team Bardock" base Blast Attack during battle.

Z IV - +38% to "Tag: Saiyan" base Strike Attack and +20% to "Tag: Team Bardock" base Blast Attack during battle.

Bardock holds two normal strike cards in his team hand when used in battle, and blast cards have no special effects when he uses it, but strike cards restore his health by 3% when used by him.

For his blue card, Final Spirit Cannon, a blast type blue, he gains 15% Special Move Damage Inflicted for 3 counts upon activation in his base form. Upon transforming, he gains 20% Special Move Damage Inflicted for 3 counts and 30% Special Move Damage Inflicted for 3 counts against "Tag: Frieza Force" upon activation.

His green card, The Fury of All, is a buff type green that gives 20% Damage Inflicted for 20 counts and applies certain effects depending on how many defeated allies there are. For 1 or more members, he restores his health by 10% and for 2 members he also increases his Arts Card Draw Speed by 1 level for 15 counts. After transformation, the health restoration is buffed to 15%, the Arts Card Draw Speed is extended to 20 counts, and the Damage Inflicted is buffed to 25% Damage Inflicted for the same duration.

EX PUR Tora

Tora is a Ranged Type and one of the oldest Team Bardock units released, and while it definitely shows in his kit, he's still strong against any Frieza Force team, and the only PUR Team Bardock unit. Additionally, as one of the first two of Bardock's crew added to the game, before the "Team Bardock" tag was added in fact, he has one of the strongest death buffs to give to any Bardock that you may be using on the team. In terms of usability, his stall game is eerily strong for an older non-Support or Defense unit, and as an older Extreme unit, he is more than likely at higher stars which gives him some competition with newer units. He holds the tags Saiyan and Team Bardock.

For his availability, Tora is a general pool EX unit for any banner that stars a Team Bardock member, along with the Happy Weekend and the Rush Limited! banners. Because of this, he is slightly rarer as an old Extreme unit, however with enough USTR Banners and some unfortunate luck on the Happy Weekend banner, you'll be sure to have him at 4 Stars or higher.

Tora's main ability, Brewing Rebellion, which is available after 15 counts, gives his allies a 40% Damage Inflicted buff against "Tag: Frieza Force" for 20 counts, and reduces his own Blast Arts cost by -10 for 20 counts as well.

His first Passive, Team (Bardock): Blast Atk UP, is pretty self-explanatory, as it gives him a 40% Blast Damage Inflicted buff when there is a "Character: Bardock" on his team.

His second Passive, Defeated (Bardock): Blast Atk UP, is similarly self-explanatory, as it gives the allied "Character: Bardock" an 80% Blast Damage Inflicted buff when Tora bites it.

Z I - +17% to "Tag: Saiyan" base Blast Attack during battle.

Z II - +20% to "Tag: Saiyan" base Blast Attack during battle.

Z III - +22% to "Tag: Saiyan" base Blast Attack & Defense during battle.

Z IV - +23% to "Tag: Saiyan" base Blast Attack & Defense during battle.

Tora holds two normal blast cards in his team hand when used in battle, and neither the strike card nor the blast card have any special effects when used by him.

His blue card, Flame Bullet, a blast-type blue, inflicts the opponent with Attribute Downgrade "+15% to Blast Damage Received" for 15 counts on hit. Additionally, it can be taught to Shallot.

Tora's green card, Unlock Ki: Form of Attack, gives each of his allies, including himself, a 15% Blast Damage Inflicted buff for 25 counts.

Now it's your turn.

EX YEL Shugesh

Shugesh is a Melee Type unit who specializes in heavy early damage and yeeting any opposing units that have far too many buffs back to the bench. For some reason he has quite the memetic status as "Lord Shugesh", and given his skill as an opening unit and even slight support with his green card and stalling main ability, he's one of the main units suggested to be brought on the core for this team. While he is an Extreme unit, he was released at the same time as RED Bardock and is as a result exceptionally powerful and even has uniquely named Passives. He holds the tags Saiyan and Team Bardock.

His availability is extremely sparse, as he has only appeared on his debut banner in March 2020, Legends YEL Vol. 3 in July 2020, and the Proud to Fight Step-Up banner in August 2020. Because of this, it's going to be somewhat hard to have him, much less have him at 3 Stars or higher. However, due to him being an Extreme unit the Multi Z Power in the Sparking Medal shop is going to be doubled, meaning it is far easier to Multi Z Power him compared to Sparking units. Sorta.

Shugesh's main ability, Overflowing Confidence, is available after 5 counts and locks all allies for 10 counts, and then gives him a 40% Damage Inflicted buff for 30 counts, along with a 70% Reduced Damage buff that is sustained until the opponent's next combo is finished.

His first Passive, Savage Warrior Race, grants him 30% Strike Damage Inflicted for 20 counts any time he enters the battlefield, and if there are any team members, besides himself, with "Tag: Team Bardock", he gains -5 Strike Arts Cost for 20 counts. Additionally, when defeated, he reduces the enemy's Dragon Balls by 2 and buffs all allied "Tag: Team Bardock" members with 20% Damage Inflicted.

Shugesh's second Passive, Crazed Invader, gives himself 25% Special Move Damage and -5 Special Move Arts cost, with each activating up to three times after the enemy's combo is over (it mentions "attack" in game, however, it only applies after the combo is over)

Z I - +20% to "Tag: Saiyan" base Strike Attack during battle.

Z II - +22% to "Tag: Saiyan" base Strike Attack and +20% to "Tag: Team Bardock" base Strike Defense during battle.

Z III - +26% to "Tag: Saiyan" base Strike Attack and +25% to "Tag: Team Bardock" base Strike Defense during battle.

Z IV - +28% to "Tag: Saiyan" base Strike Attack and +28% to "Tag: Team Bardock" base Strike Defense during battle.

Shugesh holds two normal strike cards in his team hand when used in battle, and neither blast nor strike have any special effects when used by him.

His blue card, Massive Catapult, is a strike type blue that forces the opponent to switch into the next unit in line (the one that is closer to the current unit), and also has Blast Armor when used. It is teachable to Shallot.

His green card, Unlock Ki: Form of Attack, changes all blast cards in his hand to strike cards, and gives all allies with "Tag: Team Bardock", including himself, a 15% Strike Damage Inflicted buff for 30 counts.

EX RED Fasha

Fasha is a Support Type unit, and the only Support unit currently available in Team Bardock's list of units. It's generally not recommended to play her as she shares a color with RED Bardock, but her in-game support is extremely powerful with a 50 Ki restore on green and a full party heal on her main along with a blue card draw. Additionally, she has an extremely powerful pre-Team Bardock tag passive granting any Bardock a massive buff when she swaps into him, and an incredible debuff for the entire opposing team when she dies. However, due to her being an older Extreme unit like Tora, she requires more stars in order to hold her own. She olds the tags Female Warrior, Saiyan, and Team Bardock.

In terms of availability, she is a general pool unit for any banner that features a Team Bardock or Female Warrior unit, as well as being on the common "All-Units" banners like Rush Limited! and Happy Weekened. Due to the Female Warrior factor, however, she is more likely to have higher stars than her comrade Tora as she is on more banners.

Fasha's main ability, Exquisite Assault, is available after 20 counts, and restores all allies' health by 20% and then draws a blue card.

Her first Passive, Assist (Bardock): Strike Atk UP, is self-explanatory as usual, and grants any allied "Character: Bardock" 50% Strike Damage Inflicted for 25 counts when Fasha is switched out.

Her second Passive, Defeated: Sustained Dmg UP, is yet another of the old Extreme unit Passives, and inflicts all enemies with 30% Damage Received when she is defeated. This debuff does not expire, but can be cancelled.

Z I - +19% to "Tag: Female Warrior" base Strike Defense during battle.

Z II - +22% to "Tag: Female Warrior" base Strike Defense during battle.

Z III - +32% to "Tag: Female Warrior" or "Tag: Saiyan" base Strike Defense during battle.

Z IV - +37% to "Tag: Female Warrior" or "Tag: Saiyan" base Strike Defense during battle.

Fasha holds one normal strike card and one normal blast card in her team hand when used in battle. Additionally, neither blast nor strike cards have any special effects when used by her.

Her blue card, Energy Bullet, is a blast type blue that inflicts the opponent with 10% Damage Received for 15 counts if the attack hits.

For her green card, Unlock Ki: Form of Attack, a buff type green, she restores her Ki by 50 and grants all allies 20% Damage Inflicted for 20 counts.

EX GRN Borgos

Borgos is a Defense Type unit with a fantastic supporting kit and a significant amount of defensive buffs that keep his team members alive until more opportune times for them to die. Combining this with his solid stats for an Extreme unit and his natural high damage cut percentages, Borgos can take quite a bit of punishment, and can heal his team like Fasha can on main as well. Additionally, he forms a Color Triangle when used with RED Bardock and Shugesh, which makes him a common choice for the third core member of the team. He holds the tags Saiyan and Team Bardock.

His availability is very similar to that of Shugesh's due to them being released on the same banner. However, Borgos returned slightly later on the Legends Rising: The Crusher banner of July 2020, and then on the Proud to Fight Step-Up of August 2020. Due to this common appearance, it is possible he will become a general pool unit, as he was originally released in March 2020. But, due to his uncommon appearances, it is likely that he won't have many Stars if you have him at all. Like Shugesh's blurb states, Multi Z Power is incredibly helpful in solving this issue.

His main ability, Glutton, is available after 10 counts and grants himself 20% Damage Inflicted for 20 counts and restores his health by 10%, along with restoring all allied "Tag: Team Bardock" units' health by 15%, meaning he receives a 25% health restore.

Borgos' first Passive, Desperate Cry, grants 40% Damage Inflicted if at least 1 ally is defeated. Additionally, if Borgos is defeated, he restores all allies' health by 20%, and grants them 50% Ki Recovery and if they have the "Tag: Team Bardock", they will also receive 20% Damage Inflicted. These buffs do not expire, but they can be cancelled.

His second Passive, Giant Saiyan, is a Stats Only Cover Change, with 40% Reduced Damage Received until the opponent's combo ends when changing cover and +3 to own substitution count when activated. Additionally, he gains a 10% Reduced Damage Received buff whenever he enters the battlefield if there is another "Tag: Team Bardock" unit in the party. This buff cannot be stacked.

Z I - +20% to "Tag: Saiyan" base Blast Defense during battle.

Z II - +22% to "Tag: Saiyan" base Blast Defense and +20% to "Tag: Team Bardock" base Blast Attack during battle.

Z III - +26% to "Tag: Saiyan" base Blast Defense and +25% to "Tag: Team Bardock" base Blast Attack during battle.

Z IV - +28% to "Tag: Saiyan" base Blast Defense and +28% to "Tag: Team Bardock" base Blast Attack during battle.

Borgos holds one normal strike card and one normal blast card in his team hand when used in battle. Additionally, neither blast nor strike cards have any special effects when used by him.

His blue card, Angry Launcher, is a blast type blue and buffs him with 15% Strike Damage Inflicted for 15 counts upon activation of the move.

Borgos' green card, Unlock Ki: Form of Attack, is a buff type green and gives 20% Strike Damage Inflicted for 15 counts, as well as clearing Attribute Downgrades and Abnormal Conditions for all allied "Tag: Team Bardock" units.

BLU Super Saiyan Bardock

SSJ Bardock is a Melee Type unit who is the progenitor of the Holy Trinity and king of critical hits and Super Saiyans. The issue? He's the only Super Saiyan on the team, which means that only a select few of his passives apply, particularly without his Zenkai Awakening. However, with said awakening, he easily becomes a very strong assets to the team, as not only can he easily take combos to the face, he gains quite a bit of power to hold his own even without his Super Saiyan pals. Without his awakening, though... maybe consider a health buffer like Shallot. He holds the tags Saiyan, Super Saiyan, and Team Bardock.

He is currently in the general pool for most general summons without the Sparking unit limitations, which makes him very easy to obtain at higher stars. In fact, on Super Saiyan banners and banners with YEL Vegito (DBL22-08S), he is one of the most common spook units. If needed, you can use Multi Z Power, but it would primarily be used for additional stats, as he is probably the squishiest Core unit on this team due to his age without his Zenkai Awakening, of course. Once he does gain that awakening, he will become your tank that starts combos and deals a surprising amount of damage, just without the death buffs that come with most of Team Bardock.

Because his abilities did not change much before and after his Zenkai, I will be adding the Zenkai buffs below the abilities to avoid clutter.

SSJ Bardock's main ability, No, You're Gonna Die!, which is available after 25 counts, doesn't quite have the same die-ing effect as it used to have, but it's still fairly decent with an increased Arts Card Draw Speed level for 15 counts and drawing the ultimate card Revenge Assault.

  • After his awakening, he also gains 40% Ultimate Damage Inflicted for 20 counts upon activation of his main ability.

His first Passive, The Beginning of a Legend, allows SSJ Bardock to keep up with his stronger "Tag: Super Saiyan" allies, as if there is at least 1 ally with said tag, he gains these buff indefinitely, which unfortunately does not apply on this team. Whenever he enters the battlefield, he gains 30% Damage Inflicted, -5 to Strike and Blast Arts cost, and 40% Ki Recovery.

  • This gains an additional 10% Damage Inflicted, -5 Blast Cost, and 30% Ki Recovery, for a total of 40% Damage Inflicted, -5 Strike Cost, -10 Blast Cost, and 70% Ki Recovery after his Zenkai Awakening.

SSJ Bardock's second Passive, The Golden Saiyan, applies a series of extremely scary and very strong buffs to allied "Tag: Super Saiyan" characters when he switches out. He gives 20% Damage Inflicted, 30% Critical Rate, and 70% Critical Damage each for 15 counts when switching out. In certain cases, such as with his sudden death, these buffs can be doubled up on whatever unit was swapped in before SSJ Bardock was killed, and then forced back in.

  • Once he has been awakened, he gains 25% Damage Inflicted for 20 counts instead of the prior, one of the smallest buffs of all Zenkai Awakenings.

For his first Zenkai Passive, Cross-Dimensional Awakening, available on the Adept Soul Boost panel, SSJ Bardock gains 10% Damage Inflicted each time one of his allies is hit with a Strike, Blast, or Blue card, up to 50% Damage Inflicted in total. This buff does not expire, but can be cancelled and refilled again.

His second Zenkai Passive, I hope you're ready..., (which I really hope the playerbase is), is available on the Powerful Soul Boost Panel, and grants 20% Reduced Damage Received whenever SSJ Bardock enters the battlefield, and cannot be stacked. Additionally, drawing from another Bardock unit, after 50 counts from the start of the battle have passed, he gains 30% Damage Inflicted, 30% Increased Health Restoration, and 1 Arts Card Draw Speed level, all of which cannot be cancelled.

Z I - +19% to "Tag: Super Saiyan" base Strike Defense during battle.

Z II - +21% to "Tag: Super Saiyan" base Strike Defense during battle.

Z III - +23% to "Tag: Super Saiyan" base Strike Attack & Defense during battle.

Z IV - +25% to "Tag: Super Saiyan" base Strike Attack & Defense during battle.

Zenkai 1 - +20% to base Strike Attack, +20% to base Blast Attack, +15% to base Strike Defense, and +15% to base Blast Defense to "Element: BLU" and "Tag: Saiyan" during battle.

Zenkai 3 - +25% to base Strike Attack, +25% to base Blast Attack, +20% to base Strike Defense, and +20% to base Blast Defense to "Element: BLU" and "Tag: Saiyan" during battle.

Zenkai 5 - +35% to base Strike Attack, +35% to base Blast Attack, +30% to base Strike Defense, and +30% to base Blast Defense to "Element: BLU" and "Tag: Saiyan" during battle.

Zenkai 7 - +40% to base Strike Attack, +40% to base Blast Attack, +35% to base Strike Defense, and +35% to base Blast Defense to "Element: BLU" and "Tag: Saiyan" during battle.

SSJ Bardock holds one normal blast card and one normal strike cards in his team hand when used in battle, and neither blast nor strike cards have any special effects when used by him.

His blue card, Revolt Pile, a strike-type blue, debuffs the opponent with one lowered Arts Card Draw Speed level for 15 counts and has an 80% chance to inflict Heavy Bleed, both on hit. After his awakening, this changes to 100% chance to inflict Heavy Bleed on hit.

His green card, Enraged Saiyan, is a buff-type green and restores his health by 10% and cancels all of his own Attribute Downgrades. Once Zenkai Awakened, he also gains 30 Ki upon activation of the move.

For his ultimate card, Revenge Assault, he restores his ki by 30 upon activation, and that's... about it. Pretty neat animation, though. However, he gains 60 Ki and 100% Vanish Gauge upon activation of the move when he is at least Zenkai 1, along with the neat animation.
